7/16/01 - The Ohio Parks and Recreation Association in
cooperation with Hocking College has scheduled an
All-Ohio Naturalists' Roundtable on Friday, September
21st from 9 am to 5 pm. A

6/29/01 - The June ACA Leadership newsletter expressed
appreciation for the willingness of camps nationwide who 'agreed
to participate in the summer field test of the national youth
development outcomes research instruments.' Of 21 camps listed
across the country, two were from Ohio: Camp Joy and
CYO Camp Christopher. In addition, 8 camps nationwide were
thanked for participating in a spring pilot test which helped
'streamline the survey questionnaire to be used this summer in
the field test.', and two of those were from Ohio(!): Great
Trails - Girl Scouts and YMCA Camp Campbell Gard.
- 5/2/01 - A bit late, but ... the 2001
Board of Directors has now been posted on-line. Efforts continue to
generate this information from a database which is being developed to archive the history
of the Section.
- 4/25/01 - An e-mail was sent from iluvcamp today disclosing
that they are discontinuing their operations. A copy of the e-mail has
been posted on-line, which includes a couple
of attachments in Microsoft Word.
- 3/29/01 - Two registration forms have been posted (in Adobe Acrobat
format) for the May Wilderness Skills Training and the June Southwest
Ohio Cluster Training

ACA Ohio Section Grants Program. All
proposals must be received by December 1st.

The Fall schedule of Cincinnati Cluster meetings has been added to

- 12/10/99 - The Ohio Section is proud to present our first
ever on-line registration for the
2000 Annual
Meeting. Complete descriptions of sessions are on-line, as are speaker bios.
- 11/19/99 - ACA Members: Information on the 2000
Elections has been posted. Members should contact the ACA Office if you
haven't received a ballot yet. ALSO, updated information on the
Grants (formerly Grantsmanship) Program
has been posted. Debby Menzel is now the contact person.

- 5/29/99 - Details of the ACA Ohio Section
Fall Meeting
being held October 12th at YMCA Willson Outdoor Center are now on-line.
Also, the 1999 Standards Training information has been removed and
replaced with the list of 1999 ACA Visitors.
- 5/3/99 - Some of the links to the American Camping Association
had become invalid due to a recent reorganization of the ACA's web site. Those
links have been checked and revised as necessary, including a link to the
ACA's Interactive Camp
Database. The 1999 Calendar of Events has
also been updated with the addition of upcoming conferences and workshops for
camp staff and professionals.
- 4/10/99 - Some web site redesign is taking place - hopefully
it will be easier to access and navigate. Additional e-mail addresses have
been added to the 1999 Board of Directors list.
Plus a link to the Association of
Camp Nurses (ACN) has been added. The ACN and ACA are sponsoring an
International Camp Health Conference in Bemidji, Minnesota from October

- 2/1/99 - Note the Section's new mailing address as it moves from
Columbus to NE Ohio. Also, after an enjoyable and successful Annual Meeting,
additional information is being compiled and posted on-line, including the
1998 President's Report, the
1998 Nominating Committee Report with the Election
results, and the
1999 Board of Directors.
- 12/29/98 - For ACA members, Grantsmanship

- 12/22/98 - For ACA members, information on the

- 12/16/98 - The Section's own domain name is official! We're now
on the World Wide Web at http://www.acaohio.org
- 12/13/98 - A substantial amount of new information was placed on
the web site, including new links for Parents & Campers and Camp Job
Opportunities, details on
Ohio Section Awards,
and information on
Standards Training,
including an on-line registration form for upcoming courses.
